I've spent a lot of time on the couch during the past couple of days. (And why not? It's my holiday, after all!) We've been making use of our Netflix account and had a Parks & Recreation marathon yesterday. The result: lotsa time for hooking.

Here are the hats I've made in the past 24-ish hours. |
These hats are the result of a Facebook conversation. The baby beanie was great for Baby McDougall, but I missed sending along something for big sister, Ivy...and apparently she tried to make the newborn beanie fit her head. Poor kid!
Turns out that three skeins of yarn go a long way when making hats for tiny types. I'm going to keep going and make some embellishments for these hats and then see how many more I can get before the yarn runs out.
Not all the hats are finished, of course, but the earflap hat is good to go. It's supposed to fit a toddler, but I'm a bit worried that it's a bit large. (If I really squeeze, it fits on
my head!) I like random stripes and I think red and purple are a great colour combo.

It was hard to find a bright spot on this rainy day. The purple looks almost black. It's grapier than it looks here. |
I'll post the final results of the other hats later. Today being the New Year and all, I resolved to spend some time cleaning the basement and preparing a tasty dinner (ribs have been simmering in Guinness all day! yummy!) so the finishing touches will have to wait. ;)
Great hats. I followed you here from you post on the pattern for the ear flap hat. I am glad I did, I wanted to make the toddler hat for my 3 year old nephew and worried it would be too small. All of them look spectacular. Nice job.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I hope your nephew likes his hat. :)
